The electric two-step entrance step gives taller Black Series HQ Series campers an easy climb in and out, then retracts both steps for travel so they stay clear of off-road obstacles. It is a genuine Black Series replacement built from lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum. Owners replace the unit when the motor stops responding, the steps no longer retract fully, or the mechanism has been bent by a rock or a steep driveway. Black Series part number EXT24.

Installation and care
Disconnect the trailer battery before working on the wiring. Bolt the step to the existing mounting points and connect it to the 12 V circuit that fed the old step, observing polarity. Before each trip, confirm both steps are fully retracted; towing with them extended is the most common way these get damaged. Keep the slide mechanism free of dust and grit, and if the steps become sluggish, check the connector for corrosion before assuming the motor has failed.
