A genuine Black Series OEM 12V electrical relay, model JQX-38F, as used throughout the 12V system of HQ Series camper trailers. The relay lets a low-current switch control a higher-current circuit, which is how the camper switches pumps, lights and accessories reliably without running heavy current through the panel switches. Owners replace one when a circuit goes dead or chatters while the fuse, switch and wiring all test fine — relay contacts wear out with age and vibration.

Installation and care
Before you blame the relay, check the fuse or breaker for that circuit and look for a corroded connector — on the rear of the trailer especially, dirty pins cause more dead circuits than failed relays do. Disconnect the battery, photograph the wiring so every spade goes back on the same terminal, and push each connector on until it seats firmly. A light coat of dielectric grease on the terminals keeps corrosion out on dusty, damp trips.
