This is the genuine Black Series articulating off-road hitch fitted to the HQ Series campers, rated to 12,000 lbs. Unlike a plain ball coupling, the fully articulating head lets the trailer twist and pitch independently of the tow vehicle, so rocky climbs, creek crossings, and steep descents do not load the drawbar or camper body. Owners replace the hitch when the pivot develops play, the head no longer latches cleanly, or after impact damage. Machined steel with a powder-coat finish, and a bolt-in replacement that needs no modification.

Installation and care
Torque the mounting bolts to spec and re-check them after the first trip. Grease the pivot and check for play at every service, not just when you hear a clunk over speed bumps. A hitch that will not latch fully is a safety issue, not a cosmetic one, so do not tow until it is sorted. Confirm the receiver on your tow vehicle matches before ordering.
