Does the LiTime 48V ComFlex battery need a shunt to show on a Victron Cerbo GX?

Short answer: No. LiTime states the 48V (51.2V) 100Ah ComFlex needs no shunt in a Victron system: it reports 25+ battery data points to the Victron display, VRM and VictronConnect, and its BMS sends state of charge and temperature so the Victron charger adjusts its current.

What LiTime says it does with Victron

The LiTime 48V (51.2V) 100Ah Smart ComFlex is listed as plug and play with Victron. According to LiTime:

  • No shunt needed. The battery's own data replaces a shunt reading.
  • 25+ data points are synced to the Victron display, VRM portal or VictronConnect app.
  • Charge control. Connected to a Victron (or LiTime) inverter-charger, its T5.0 BMS reports state of charge and temperature so the charging current adjusts automatically.

What you still need

A GX device for the battery to talk to. The Cerbo GX MK2 is Victron's system hub; it is what shows the battery on a display and passes data to VRM. You still need an inverter-charger for 48V, such as the MultiPlus 2000VA in its 48V version, and DC distribution with fusing, such as a Lynx Distributor.

The battery itself

Spec (LiTime) Value
Nominal voltage 51.2V
Capacity 100Ah, 5,120Wh
Parallel limit up to 16 batteries with communication
Largest bank 51.2V 1,600Ah, 81.92kWh

LiTime also says its app can connect to any one battery in a communicating bank and see the whole system, rather than scanning batteries one by one.

Where a shunt still helps

If the bank also feeds DC loads that bypass the battery's own measurement, or you mix sources Victron cannot see, a shunt still gives a whole-system number. For a straightforward bank of ComFlex batteries on a Victron inverter-charger, LiTime's position is that you can leave it out.
