Which Bilstein front shocks fit a Spartan K2, K3 or Mountain Master chassis?

Short answer: On a Spartan K2, K3, MC2000 or Mountain Master the front shock depends on the front suspension, not the coach. Bilstein lists 24-223386 for the Reyco 1370 beam (1997-2004), 24-186476 for the Tuthill IFS 1200 (1997-2004), 24-241755 for the Spartan IFS 1360 (1998-2005) and 24-061995 for the Tuthill Granning IFS 1460 (2005-2014).

Spartan built these diesel pusher chassis with several different front suspensions over the years, and Bilstein makes a different B6 front shock for each. Two coaches of the same year can need different shocks, so identify the front suspension before you order.

Front shock by front suspension

Front suspension (from Bilstein's application data) Years Bilstein front
Reyco Model 1370 beam axle 1997-2004 24-223386
Tuthill IFS 1200 1997-2004 24-186476
Spartan IFS 1360 1998-2005 24-241755
Tuthill Granning IFS 1460 2005-2014 24-061995

For 1991-1995 K2, K3 and MC2000 chassis Bilstein lists 24-186407 at the front.

The suspension model is usually on a tag on the axle or crossmember, and it is on the chassis build sheet Spartan can pull from your VIN. "IFS" means independent front suspension: each front wheel moves on its own control arms instead of sharing a solid beam.

The rear

Bilstein lists 24-186780 as the rear for the K2 and K3 across most years and the Mountain Master 1996-2014. For 2008-2011 K2, K3 and Mountain Master chassis with the Hendrickson air drive-axle suspension the rear is 24-191258. Check your rear suspension the same way.

46 mm or 60 mm?

Owners on the forums often ask whether to replace a factory 60 mm Bilstein with a 46 mm one. The parts above are Bilstein's current retail B6 replacements for these chassis; if your existing shocks carry a different body size or part number, send us the number printed on the shock and your chassis VIN and we will check the cross-reference with Bilstein before you buy.

How many

Diesel pushers do not all use one shock per corner. Count the shocks on each axle before ordering. You can also check any year in the Bilstein Shock Fitment Finder: pick Spartan, then your model and year.
