The hitch pin is the one part holding the trailer to the tow vehicle, so a backup for the backup is not overkill. This kit uses a heavy-duty T-pin held in place by a retaining spring, with a D-ring backup and a locking cotter pin for redundancy if any single piece fails or works loose on corrugations. The parts are zinc-plated steel, and you can order the complete set or just the piece you have lost.

Installation and care
Confirm the 40 x 70 mm pin size matches your coupling before ordering. Fit the T-pin, seat the retaining spring, then clip the D-ring and locking cotter in place every single time you hook up; always use multiple safety devices for trailer connections. Check the pin for wear or bending at each hitch-up, and keep the zinc plating clean of packed mud so you can see its condition.
