How long will a Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 run a 12V fridge?

Answered by RV Parts Giant · Upland, CA · October 11, 2026

Short answer: About four to six days for a 12V compressor fridge running alone. ICECO publishes lab figures of 0.29 to 0.43kWh per 24 hours across its range, and the Explorer 2000 v2 stores 2,042Wh; after conversion losses that is roughly 1,700Wh usable. Heat, a full fridge and frequent door openings push you toward the low end.

Longer than most people expect. A 12V compressor fridge only runs its compressor part of the time, so its daily use is small, and the Explorer 2000 v2 is a big battery for that job.

The arithmetic

  1. What the station holds. The Explorer 2000 v2 listing states 2,042Wh.
  2. What you can use. We size with about 85% usable, to allow for conversion losses: roughly 1,735Wh.
  3. What the fridge uses. ICECO publishes a lab energy figure for each model, in kWh per 24 hours.
Fridge (ICECO lab figure per 24 h) Days on an Explorer 2000 v2
APL20, 0.293kWh about 5.9
APL55, 0.326kWh about 5.3
APL35, 0.380kWh about 4.6
BF65, 0.433kWh about 4.0

Lab figures are measured in steady conditions. In a hot trailer, with the fridge packed warm and the lid opening often, real use runs higher, so treat the bottom of the table as your planning number.

Make it last longer

  • Add the sun. A SolarSaga 200W on a clear day puts back more than a fridge uses, so with sun the fridge alone never runs the station down. The Explorer 2000 v2 is also sold as a Solar Generator set with the 200W panels included.
  • Pre-cool at home. Chill the fridge and its contents on shore power before you leave; the first pull-down from warm is the hungriest part of the day.
  • Count everything else. Lights, the water pump, phones and a laptop come out of the same 1,735Wh. Add those to the fridge before you plan a long stay off-grid, or run the numbers in our RV solar and battery calculator.
