Victron makes batteries for every budget and system type, from sealed AGM and gel deep cycle batteries to its LiFePO4 lithium range. All of them pair with Victron chargers, solar controllers and battery monitors.
Lithium or lead-acid?

Lithium (LiFePO4) gives about twice the usable capacity of the same rated AGM, weighs around half as much, charges faster and lasts thousands of cycles. It costs more up front but less per cycle. See Victron lithium batteries.

AGM deep cycle is sealed and maintenance-free, handles cold charging well and costs much less. A sound choice for occasional use and for budgets where lithium does not fit.

Gel deep cycle tolerates deep discharges and heat better than AGM and has a long float life, at the cost of slower charging.

Can I mix lithium and AGM batteries?
Not in the same bank. You can keep an AGM starter battery and a lithium house bank, charged through a DC-DC charger.
Which charger profile should I use?
Use the profile for your battery type. Victron chargers and solar controllers have built-in AGM, gel and LiFePO4 settings.
