A Victron inverter/charger is three devices in one box: a pure sine wave inverter, a multi-stage battery charger and an automatic transfer switch. Plug into shore power or start the generator and it charges your batteries and passes power through; unplug and it switches to inverter power in milliseconds, fast enough that computers and residential fridges keep running.
MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II or Quattro?
-
MultiPlus is the proven classic: 120V, UL-listed models from 2000VA to 3000VA on 12V or 24V. A good fit for most travel trailers and vans.
-
MultiPlus-II is the current generation, with PowerAssist (it tops up a weak 30A pedestal or small generator from the battery), a larger transfer switch and models up to 48V. Most new RV and off-grid builds start here.
-
Quattro adds a second AC input, so shore power and a generator can both be wired in and the unit picks between them. It suits 50A coaches and boats with an onboard generator.
How to size one
Add up what you want to run at the same time. A microwave plus a coffee maker is about 2,500W, so a 3000VA unit is the usual choice for a 30A trailer. Running a roof air conditioner from batteries, or a 50A coach, generally means 24V or 48V and 5000VA or more. Battery voltage matters as much as inverter size: at 12V a 3000VA inverter can draw over 250A, which needs heavy cable and a large lithium bank.
Every Victron product here is genuine stock from an authorized U.S. Victron dealer, shipped free from Upland, California, with the full Victron warranty. Not sure which model fits your rig? Call us or send your RV details and we will size the system with you.

Common questions
Can a MultiPlus-II run my RV air conditioner?
Yes, if the battery bank and inverter are sized for it. A 13,500 BTU roof unit needs roughly 1,500W running and a large start surge, so plan on at least 3000VA and a lithium bank of 300Ah or more at 12V, or step up to 24V or 48V.
Does it work on a 30A and a 50A RV?
Yes. The 120V models suit 30A rigs directly. For 50A coaches, use a split-phase 2x120V model or two units configured for split phase, and talk to us about the panel layout first.
Do I need a Cerbo GX with it?
No, it runs on its own. A Cerbo GX or a VE.Bus Smart dongle adds Bluetooth settings, monitoring and remote access through VRM, and lets the inverter, solar charger and battery monitor share data.
