Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 or HomePower 2000 Plus v2 for a travel trailer?
Short answer: Both hold about 2kWh, so the deciding question is whether you will ever want more. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 takes up to five Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2 units and reaches 12kWh; the Explorer 2000 v2 is not on the compatibility list of any Jackery expansion pack, so 2,042Wh is all it will ever be.
On paper these two look like the same station. They are not, and the difference only shows up the first time you wish you had more battery.

Buy the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 if
- You might add a battery later. The Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2 listing names only two stations it works with: the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 and the HomePower 1000 Plus v2. A second pack doubles your trailer's storage without replacing anything.
- You want it wired to a transfer switch. Our 120V 30A Jackery manual transfer switch lists the HomePower 2000 Plus as a compatible station; the Explorer 2000 v2 is not on that list.
- You run heavier appliances together. It has 200W more continuous output and 400W more surge, a little more headroom when two bigger loads overlap.
Buy the Explorer 2000 v2 if
- 2kWh covers your trips. A 12V compressor fridge, lights, the water pump and devices fit inside a day's use for most trailers without air conditioning, and you top it up from solar or shore power.
- You move it in and out of the trailer. At about 39.5 lb it is the one to carry, and the 1.7-hour wall recharge suits a fill-up at home before you leave.
The mistake to avoid
Buying the Explorer 2000 v2 and then shopping for an expansion battery. None of the Jackery expansion packs we sell lists it as compatible, so the upgrade path is a second station, not a pack. If there is any chance you will grow the system, start with the HomePower 2000 Plus v2.
