The gray acrylic cover that sits over a roof vent opening on the Black Series Dominator. It shields the opening from rain and debris while still letting air move and admitting some daylight into the cabin. Acrylic on a roof takes the full force of the sun, and after enough seasons the cover crazes, yellows, or cracks; a cracked cover leaks, and a discolored one dims the cabin. Owners replace it at the first crack rather than waiting for water to find the ceiling.

Installation and care
Remove the old cover, clean the old sealant off the vent frame, and check the frame itself for cracks before fitting the new cover. Bed the cover on a fresh bead of exterior-grade sealant and tighten the screws only until snug; overtightening cracks acrylic. Wash it with soap and water only, since solvents and ammonia cleaners cloud acrylic. Close the vent before driving under tree cover, and look the cover over for new cracks each spring.
