Installation and care
Disconnect the camper's battery before working on an electric step and label the controller wiring before unplugging it. Bolt the frame to the chassis mounting points with the original hardware, then cycle the step to check it extends fully without rubbing. Grease the pivots and slides at least once a season, more often after dusty or coastal trips; corrosion in the pivots is what seizes a step. If an electric step stops moving, check the fuse and controller wiring before assuming the motor is dead.
