A black stainless steel fitting that joins two sections of plumbing in a Black Series HQ camper. Fittings crack when water freezes in the line, work loose from vibration, or start seeping at the seal after years of pressure cycling, and a weeping fitting behind a cabinet can soak the floor before anyone notices. Owners replace the fitting when they find a drip during a leak check or after winter, and it is worth carrying one in the spares kit for roadside repairs.

Installation and care
Depressurize the system by switching off the pump and opening a tap before you undo the old fitting. Trim any hose end that has hardened or split so the new fitting seats on fresh material, and tighten by hand plus a little more rather than cranking down, since overtightening cracks fittings and splits hose. Run the pump and check every joint for weeping. Drain the lines before freezing weather; ice is the main killer of plumbing fittings.
