DualPRO Eagle HF ES800: Which Version Do You Need?

How to pick the right DualPRO Eagle HF ES800 800W charger: voltage, golf cart, marine, aerial lift and floor-scrubber versions, SB50 or ring terminals, and lithium settings.

The DualPRO Eagle HF ES800 is one 800W high-frequency charger sold in many versions. The 24V, 36V and 48V models share the same case, power and app; what changes is the voltage, the DC connection, and the equipment it's set up for. Here's how to read the part number and pick the right one.

What every ES800 has

  • 800W output: DualPRO lists about 33.3A at 24V, 22.5A at 36V and 16.7A at 48V. DualPRO's spec sheet rates two versions lower, the 24V003 marine at 25A and the 36V005 at 21A, and our listings follow the sheet
  • Universal AC input: DualPRO's product pages list 85 to 270 VAC, 50/60 Hz (its spec sheet lists 100 to 240 VAC for some versions). Either way it runs on standard 120V and 240V power
  • Selectable charge profiles for flooded, AGM, gel and lithium, set in the free PROView Link app, which also receives over-the-air updates
  • CAN capable, and designed so chargers can be combined for higher output
  • IP67, 10 x 7.15 x 4 in, 11 lb
  • Designed and assembled by PRO Charging Systems in La Vergne, Tennessee, with a 3-year warranty

Read the part number

ES0800 is the model; 24V, 36V or 48V is the battery system; the last three digits are the version. Here are the twelve versions we carry:

Part number Voltage DC connection Set up for
ES0800-24V001 24V Ring terminals Standard on-board; industrial and floor scrubbers
ES0800-24V003 24V Ring terminals with inline blade fuses Marine
ES0800-24V005 24V Ring terminals, interlock Aerial lifts
ES0800-36V001 36V Ring terminals Standard on-board; golf carts and industrial
ES0800-36V002 36V Black SB50 connector Portable; golf carts and LSVs
ES0800-36V003 36V Ring terminals with inline blade fuses Marine
ES0800-36V004 36V SB50 connector (gray per DualPRO's description) Floor scrubbers and industrial
ES0800-36V005 36V Ring terminals, interlock On-board with interlock
ES0800-48V001 48V Ring terminals Standard on-board; golf carts and lifts
ES0800-48V002 48V Black SB50 connector Portable; golf carts and LSVs
ES0800-48V003 48V Ring terminals with inline blade fuses Marine
ES0800-48V005 48V Ring terminals, interlock Aerial lifts

Golf carts and LSVs

Match the charger to your cart's battery voltage first: 36V or 48V. Then pick how you want to charge:

  • On-board (ES0800-36V001 or ES0800-48V001): mounted on the cart and wired to the pack with ring terminals. DualPRO says the golf on-board versions come with a 3 ft IEC power cable.
  • Portable (ES0800-36V002 or ES0800-48V002): ends in a black SB50 connector. To plug it into your cart's charging port, you need a charge cable from SB50 to your cart's plug. DualPRO makes 7 to 7.5 ft cable assemblies for most major cart brands. We don't stock those cables, so check which one your cart needs before you order.

If you've converted the cart to lithium, set the lithium profile in the PROView Link app. Our guide to 48V to 12V converters after a golf cart lithium swap covers the other part of that job.

On-board or portable?

An on-board charger lives on the cart, lift or machine, wired to the pack, so you only plug in the AC cord. It suits fleets and anyone who wants the charger out of the way. A portable charger stays in the garage or on a shelf and plugs into the vehicle's charging port, which suits owners who charge in one place and like a lighter cart. DualPRO also sells a handle kit with rubber feet that turns the convertible versions into a carry-around charger. We don't stock it.

What's in the box

DualPRO's spec sheet lists the charger and manual for every version, plus an AC power cord adaptor on the standard, golf, industrial and lift versions. The marine versions have an IEC AC inlet. DualPRO sells a 6 ft IEC power cord separately if you need a longer run to the outlet. All versions are rated to operate from -30°C to 70°C.

Boats

The marine versions (24V003, 36V003 and 48V003) have an IEC AC inlet and ring-terminal DC leads with inline blade fuses. DualPRO's spec sheet says they're for a single 24V, 36V or 48V battery, or for batteries in series when paired with DualPRO's B.O.S. (Battery Optimization System, sold separately by DualPRO). DualPRO's website lists B.O.S. models for 24V and 36V strings. If your trolling motor runs on separate 12V batteries, a multi-bank charger is usually the simpler fit: see which DualPRO marine charger do I need.

Aerial lifts and floor scrubbers

DualPRO says the ES800 works with most scissor and boom lifts, and it asks owners to contact PRO Charging Systems for the exact part number for a given lift. DualPRO's spec sheet cross-references these OEM numbers:

A cross-reference is a starting point, not a guarantee. Confirm the voltage, the connector and any interlock wiring against your machine before you order.

FAQ

Can the ES800 charge lithium?

Yes. Choose the lithium profile in the PROView Link app. Check your battery maker's charge requirements first.

Can I combine two ES800 chargers for more output?

DualPRO says the ES800 was developed to be combined (interleaved) for higher output, and it's CAN capable. Ask DualPRO or us about the setup for your equipment before you plan on it.

Does the portable 36V002 or 48V002 come with a cart plug?

No. It ends in a black SB50 connector. You need a charge cable from SB50 to your cart's charging port.

Is the ES800 waterproof?

It's rated IP67.

Which SB50 connector do I need?

The golf-cart portables (36V002 and 48V002) use a black SB50. For the 36V004 floor-scrubber version, match the connector already on your machine before you order.
