The Tacoma has one of the deepest FOX line-ups of any mid-size truck. FOX lists parts for all four generations, from bolt-in Performance shocks to DSC-adjustable Elite coil-overs and Factory Race internal bypass kits. Every Tacoma part below comes from FOX's own fit guide, grouped by generation, axle and lift range. Each part number links to our listing.
Before you choose
- Front and rear are separate parts, each with its own lift range. Measure your lift at each axle; see how to choose FOX shocks by lift height.
- Pairs or singles: Performance shocks are sold one at a time, so order two per axle. The Elite and Factory Race kits below are pairs.
- 2WD trucks (2005-2023): FOX lists the same part numbers for RWD trucks, but only for the 6-lug version.
- 4-cylinder trucks (2005-2023): FOX notes on its front coil-overs that a lighter spring rate is recommended for proper ride height and performance.

Three points about this table:
- The front lift bands change in 2016. The Elite front pair 883-06-177 is listed for 2 in on 2005-2015 trucks and 1 in on 2016-2023 trucks. FOX's own label says the same.
- Snap-ring coil-overs such as 985-62-000 reuse your stock spring and mounting hardware; the spring is not included. FOX lists the 2015-on versions as not compatible with TRD Pro springs.
- Label check: the 2.0 reservoir rear 985-24-116 has a label that reads 0-1 in, while the fit guide lists it for 0 to 1.5 in on the Tacoma. At 1 to 1.5 in of rear lift, ask us first.
Fourth generation, 2024-2026
| Position | Lift | Drive | Performance | Performance Elite | Factory Race |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Front | 0-2.25 in | All | 985-02-155 (2.0 coil-over, IFP) | – | – |
| Front | 0.5-2.25 in | All | 987-02-008 (2.5 coil-over, IFP) | – | – |
| Front | 1-3 in | All | – | 883-06-224 (2.5 coil-over, remote reservoir, DSC EVO, pair) | – |
| Front | 2-3 in | All | – | – | 883-06-232 (3.0 coil-over, internal bypass, remote reservoir, DSC EVO, pair) |
| Rear | 0-1 in | All | 985-24-211 (2.0 IFP) Does not fit leaf spring truck | – | 883-26-149 (3.0 internal bypass, remote reservoir, DSC EVO, pair) Does not fit leaf spring truck |
| Rear | 0-1.5 in | All | 987-24-052 (2.5 IFP) Does not fit leaf spring truck | 883-26-143 (2.5 remote reservoir, DSC EVO, pair) Does not fit leaf spring truck | – |
- Rear suspension type: every rear shock in the table above is noted "Does not fit leaf spring truck", so check which rear suspension your truck has. FOX's fit guide gives no leaf-spring note for the Live Valve set below, but we don't list a separate FOX rear for leaf-spring trucks of this generation.
- DSC EVO: the Elite and Factory Race internal bypass pairs in the table use FOX's DSC EVO compression adjusters, while the Live Valve set below adjusts itself; see FOX DSC adjuster explained.
- Live Valve: 883-06-259 is a 3.2 in Factory Race internal bypass Live Valve set for front and rear, listed for 2 to 3 in at the front and 0 to 1 in at the rear.
- Upper control arms: FOX's billet arms 803-35-006 (black) and 803-35-007 (orange) are CNC machined in the USA from T6061 billet aluminum, with 1.25 in uniballs and adjustable 3/4 in chromoly heim joints. FOX calls upper control arms the first step in a mid-travel build.
Which Tacoma setup for which use
- Stock or lightly leveled, towing a small trailer: a Performance front and rear in your bands. 2.5 bodies such as 987-24-026 at the rear (2005-2023, 0 to 1.5 in) shed heat faster than 2.0, according to FOX.
- Overland build with a roof tent and drawers: the Elite pairs. With DSC you can set compression for the loaded truck and back it off when empty.
- Mid-travel build: Factory Race internal bypass with upper control arms, where FOX lists them.
