Bruder EXP Camper Parts in the US: What You Can Actually Get

Bruder ships EXP-4, EXP-6 and EXP-8 trailers to North America but has no US parts distributor. What is factory-only, what crosses over, and what to carry.

Bruder builds some of the most capable expedition trailers on the road, and owners of an EXP-4, EXP-6 or EXP-8 in North America share a frustration with owners of most imported off-road campers: the camper is here, the parts supply is not.

This guide is honest about what that means. Some of a Bruder is Bruder-only and comes from the factory. Some of it is standard off-road trailer hardware that a US supplier can ship this week. Knowing which is which before something fails is the whole point.

Where Bruder parts come from today

Bruder sells direct, with showrooms in Australia, the United States and Europe, viewings by appointment, and a waiting list for North American delivery. Support is offered as 24-hour global technical assistance from the manufacturer.

What we could not find is a US parts distributor, and owners have said the same. The practical consequence is that a Bruder-specific part means contacting Bruder, quoting the chassis number, and waiting on international shipping. For a bespoke component that is the only route, and for anything structural or safety-critical it is the right one.

For the consumables that fail on any off-road trailer, it is usually not necessary.

What is Bruder-only

Bruder builds far more of the trailer in-house than most brands, which is part of why the trailers perform as they do and part of why parts are harder. Treat these as manufacturer-only:

  • The suspension arms, airbags and the proprietary independent suspension components
  • Body panels, hatches, doors and their bespoke hardware
  • The roof and its lift mechanism
  • Any electronics carrying the Bruder name, and the control system
  • Chassis components and the coupling if it is Bruder's own

Do not attempt to substitute in that list. The trailers are engineered as a system and the loads are high.

What crosses over

Underneath the bespoke body, an off-road trailer still rolls on wheel bearings, pumps water with a 12 V pump and seals compartments with rubber. These are where a US supplier helps.

Wheel bearings. Bearings are specified by axle and hub, not by the brand of the camper, and they are the single most important spare to carry on a heavy trailer that goes off pavement. Identify yours by measuring rather than by asking Bruder: our bearing sizes guide shows how, and it works for any trailer. We stock Timken sets for 10-inch, 3,500 lb axles and 12-inch, 5,200 to 7,000 lb axles, with a fresh cotter pin for every hub. If your measurement matches neither, that is a Bruder question.

The water pump. A 12 V self-priming diaphragm pump is a standard part with standard fittings. Check the port size and the flow rating of the pump you have; if it is a standard unit, the replacement pump is a direct swap.

Tank senders. Most tanks use the SAE five-bolt flange, and a stainless sender fits any tank with that pattern once you have matched the sender length to the tank depth.

Seals. A self-adhesive EPDM bubble seal is the universal fix for a compartment, hatch or window seal that has flattened.

12 V electrical. Fuses, breakers, busbars, terminals, wire and LED lighting are all standard. A Bruder's electrical system may be sophisticated, but the protective and distribution hardware in it follows the same rules as any 12 V system.

How to know what fits before you order

Three checks, and they replace guessing:

  1. Measure the part, not the trailer. Bearings by drum size, senders by tank depth, pumps by port size, seals by profile and channel width.
  2. Photograph the old part and its mounting. A photo answers most fitment questions in one look.
  3. Ask before ordering. Send us the measurement and the photo and we will tell you whether we have a match or whether it is one for the factory. We would rather say no than ship something that does not fit a trailer at this price.

What to carry

The spares that matter most on a trailer whose factory is on another continent:

  • A full bearing set and seals for one hub, with cotter pins
  • A water pump, or at least its fittings and a repair kit
  • A length of EPDM seal
  • Fuses of every rating the trailer uses, and a spare breaker if it has resettable ones
  • Grease, and the tools to pull a hub

Our guide to the spares every off-road camper should carry covers the reasoning.

Other imported campers

The same logic applies across the imported off-road segment, and we have written the equivalent guides for MDC, OPUS, Patriot and Conqueror, plus a universal parts guide for the rest. Bruder is the one where the least crosses over, and this page says so.

Everything we stock ships from Upland, California.
