Patriot Campers are Australian-built hard-core off-road campers — the X1, X3, and Super Tourer run the same category of running gear, plumbing, and 12V power hardware as most premium off-road trailers. That means the wear items and upgrades you'll eventually need — a new articulating coupler, wheel bearings, a water pump, an air conditioner, or a Victron power component — are almost all standard off-road-camper parts we stock and ship from California. This guide walks each system and points you to the exact part.
Everything below is in our Patriot Camper Compatible Parts collection. Fitment note: Patriot Campers is an independent manufacturer and we are not affiliated with them — the parts here are compatible replacements and common upgrades chosen for this class of camper. Always match your existing part's dimensions and thread/voltage before ordering, and message us your build year if you're unsure.
Coupler & towing hardware
Off-road campers use an articulating (poly-block) coupler rather than a standard ball hitch, so it can twist and pitch on rough tracks. Patriot-class trailers commonly run Cruisemaster DO35/DO45-style couplers.
| What you need | Part |
|---|---|
| 3.5T articulating off-road coupler (no handbrake) | Cruisemaster DO35 Off-Road Coupling – 3.5T |
| DO35 tow-pin service kit (1" UNF) | Cruisemaster DO35 Tow Pin Kit |
| DO45 tow-pin service kit | Cruisemaster DO45 Tow Pin Kit |
Not sure which coupler you have? See our DO35 vs DO45 coupler guide to identify it before ordering a rebuild kit.
Wheel bearings & suspension
Independent trailing-arm suspension and 10"/12" electric brakes mean bearings are a scheduled service item — repack or replace them after heavy corrugations or any water crossing.
| What you need | Part |
|---|---|
| 12" hub bearing (larger axle) | Timken 12" Wheel Bearing |
| 10" hub bearing (smaller axle) | Timken 10" Wheel Bearing |
| Front stabiliser / jack | ARK XO500 Black Edition Trailer Jack |
Running heavy corrugations? Our off-road suspension guide covers what to service and when.
Water & plumbing
Patriot-class campers run a 12V pressure pump feeding an outdoor kitchen and a grey/black tank. These are all universal RV plumbing fittings.
| What you need | Part |
|---|---|
| 12V pressure water pump | Water Pump 12V |
| External water fill point | Fiamma Water Inlet |
| Outdoor kitchen faucet | Outdoor Kitchen Faucet |
| Hot/cold mixing valve | Water Mixing Valve |
| 26 gal grey/black tank | Water Tank (grey/black) 26gal |

Air conditioning & appliances
Most off-road campers in this class use a Dometic rooftop A/C and a 12V compressor fridge. Dometic service parts are direct-fit.
| What you need | Part |
|---|---|
| 15,000 BTU low-profile rooftop A/C | Dometic Penguin II 15,000 BTU A/C |
| A/C air distribution box (ducted/non-ducted) | Dometic Air Distribution Box |
| Fridge door handles (pair) | Dometic Fridge Handle (pair) |
| Fridge freezer door shelf | Dometic Freezer Door Shelf |
Sizing a replacement A/C? See our 13,500 vs 15,000 BTU guide.
Power, solar & electrical
This is where Patriot owners upgrade most. The camper's 12V system pairs a lithium battery with solar and, increasingly, a Victron inverter/charger and BMS for shore-free living.
| What you need | Part |
|---|---|
| 200W off-road solar panel | Renogy 200W N-Type Solar Panel |
| 60A solar charge controller w/ display | Solar Charge Controller – 60A |
| Inverter/charger (2000VA) | Victron MultiPlus 2000VA |
| Lithium battery management | Victron Smart BMS 12-200 |
| Trailer breakaway safety kit | CURT 12V Breakaway Kit |
