The Renogy 500A Battery Monitor replaces guesswork about state of charge with a shunt-based reading, which is what you want in an RV, van or off-grid cabin where the battery bank is effectively the whole system.

The 20 ft shielded cable means the display can live somewhere you will actually look at it while the shunt stays next to the battery. Renogy notes the monitor stores its last reading through a power loss, and warns against long sun exposure or heavy UV, which shortens the life of the LCD.
