Once your off-grid system has more than a battery and a panel, you want one place to see it all - state of charge, solar yield, what's drawing power, and whether you'll make it through the night. That's what a Victron GX device like the Cerbo GX does.

What a GX device does
A GX device is the brain and dashboard of a Victron system. It collects data from your inverter/charger, MPPT solar controllers, battery monitor, and DC-DC charger, then displays it on a connected screen and in the VictronConnect / VRM app - so you can check your system from your phone, even remotely.
Why RV owners add one
- One screen for everything instead of checking each device separately.
- Remote monitoring via VRM - see your rig's power while you're away.
- Smarter control - generator auto-start logic, load management, and alerts.
- Troubleshooting - historical data makes it far easier to diagnose issues.
How it connects
Victron components link to the Cerbo GX over VE.Direct, VE.Bus, and VE.Can using the appropriate data cables and interfaces. Add a GX Touch screen or use the app. A compatible battery monitor (like a shunt-based meter) feeds it accurate state-of-charge data.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Cerbo GX for a small system?
Not strictly - a single MPPT or inverter with Bluetooth can be monitored in the app. A GX device shines once you have multiple components to see together.
Can I monitor my RV remotely?
Yes - with an internet connection the GX device reports to Victron VRM, so you can check your system from anywhere.
