What Bilstein part numbers does a Ford F-53 motorhome take?

Short answer: For a 1999-2004, 2006-2009 or 2011-2024 F-53, Bilstein's B6 replacements are 24-234511 front and 24-234528 rear. A 1988-1997 F-53 takes 24-187015 front and 24-187022 rear. Bilstein's list skips the 1998, 2005 and 2010 model years, so confirm those with us before you order.

The F-53 is the gas Class A chassis under most Ford-powered coaches, and Bilstein makes one B6 heavy-duty monotube shock for each corner of it. The part you need depends only on the chassis model year, not the coach brand, so start with the year on the chassis VIN plate.

The part numbers by year

F-53 chassis year Front Rear
1988-1997 24-187015 24-187022
1999-2004, 2006-2009, 2011-2024 24-234511 24-234528

The 1999-2024 pair also fits the F-59 commercial stripped chassis from 2011 to 2024. Bilstein's own application list for these parts names coaches built on the F-53 too, including the Holiday Rambler Vacationer and the Monaco La Palma and Monarch, which is a useful cross-check if you are not sure what is underneath.

Bilstein does not list the 1998, 2005 or 2010 F-53 model years for either pair. If your chassis is one of those years, send us the VIN and we will check with Bilstein before you buy, rather than guess.

How many to order

The F-53 uses one shock per corner: two fronts and two rears. Shocks are replaced by the axle so both sides damp the same, which is why we sell the complete 1999-2024 set (2 front plus 2 rear) and front and rear pairs alongside the single shocks. The set is priced at exactly the sum of the four singles.

While you are under the front

Bilstein also makes a steering stabilizer for every F-53 from 1988 to 2024, part 24-245975. It bolts to the factory stabilizer mounts. If your chassis never had a factory stabilizer, you also need the Bilstein bracket kit 11-317555 to mount it.

Use the Bilstein Shock Fitment Finder: pick Ford, then F-53 Motorhome Chassis, then your year, and it lists every Bilstein part we carry for it.
