Which Bilstein shocks fit a Chevy Express or GMC Savana Class C motorhome?

Answered by RV Parts Giant · Upland, CA · October 5, 2026

Short answer: Check the GVWR on the door-jamb sticker first. A 2003-2023 Express or Savana over 7,300 lb, which includes Class C motorhomes, takes Bilstein 24-187435 front and 24-221948 rear. A 1996-2002 Express 3500 Class C takes 24-024808 front. Lighter vans up to 7,300 lb use different parts.

Bilstein splits its B6 shocks for the Express and Savana by gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) as well as year. The GVWR is printed on the sticker in the driver's door jamb. Every Class C motorhome on this chassis is well over 7,300 lb.

Express / Savana GVWR Front Rear
2003-2023 2500, 3500, 4500, incl. Class C over 7,300 lb 24-187435 24-221948
1996-2002 Express 3500 Class C Class C 24-024808 24-221948

The 24-221948 rear covers 1996-2023 Express and Savana 2500 and 3500 over 7,300 lb, plus the 4500.

Lighter vans

Bilstein lists different parts for vans rated up to 7,300 lb: the rear 24-024815 is noted "to GVWR 7,300 lbs" for the GMT600 chassis, and the 1996-2002 front 24-025652 covers 1500 and 2500 vans up to and over 7,300 lb. Do not mix the light-duty rear with the heavy-duty front.

How many

One per corner, two front and two rear. For 2003-2023 coaches we sell the complete set of two 24-187435 fronts and two 24-221948 rears, priced at the sum of the singles. To check another year, pick Chevrolet or GMC in the Bilstein Shock Fitment Finder.
