Collection: Garmin

Garmin's SERV system replaces the rows of rocker switches in an RV with one touchscreen. Lights, pumps, fans and tank readings move onto a display you can also run by voice or from the Garmin RV Controls app on the coach's Wi-Fi. These are Garmin's RV OEM parts, for owners upgrading or repairing a SERV setup. Not sure where to start? Read SERV vs SERV+.

Displays. The SERV+ 7" and SERV+ 10" have digital switching built in: 5 configurable inputs and 6 output circuits. The SERV 7" and SERV 10" are control-and-monitoring panels for circuits switched by an EmpirBus module or another compatible digital switching system.

Switching and wiring. The EmpirBus Connect 50 v2 module adds circuits beyond the display's own. SERV+ output and input/output harnesses wire it in. The NMEA 2000 starter kit, the RV-C multi tap, the adapter cables and the interior temperature sensor complete the network.

Everything ships from our warehouse in Upland, California. Send us your circuit list and we will help you choose the display, harnesses and cables before you order.

Garmin SERV questions

What is the difference between SERV and SERV+?

Built-in switching. The SERV+ has 5 configurable inputs and 6 high-side PWM outputs (1 to 10 A each, 30 A for the whole display). The SERV has no switching of its own and controls circuits switched by an EmpirBus module or another compatible system. Both come in 7" and 10".

Are the wiring harnesses included with the SERV+?

No. The box includes the display, a 2-pin power cable, a CAN termination connector, trim bezel, mounting hardware and template. The 6-pin output and 8-pin input/output harnesses are sold separately.

When do I need an EmpirBus Connect 50?

When you have more circuits than the SERV+'s six outputs or its 30 A total, when you use a SERV, or when you want switching mounted near the loads. Garmin's manual allows up to 6 Connect 50 modules on one network.

Can I connect the Garmin network to my coach's RV-C bus?

Garmin's SERV install guide warns not to combine the Garmin main CAN bus with the RV-C bus. Use the RV-C parts on the RV-C side and the NMEA 2000 parts on the Garmin side, and ask us if you are unsure which device goes where.

Can I control the RV from my phone?

Yes, with the Garmin RV Controls app when your phone is on the RV's Wi-Fi network. Both SERV and SERV+ also take "OK Garmin" voice commands once the system is configured for your vehicle's equipment.

Can I replace a factory SERV display myself?

The screens show controls set up for your coach. If the old display still works, its configuration can be saved to a microSD card and loaded on the new one. Garmin strongly recommends an experienced installer with electrical knowledge for the wiring.
