Eco-Cool is a 15,000 BTU rooftop RV air conditioner with a built-in 12,000 BTU heat pump. It is built on Gree's RV air-conditioner platform and sold in North America by Premier Products of Elkhart, Indiana, which says RV builders including Forest River, Tiffin, Grand Design and Alliance RV use it. Premier rates it at 43–56 dB inside and an average 8–11 A on 115V, and says two units can share one 30A circuit. Choose the non-ducted Free Blow or the Ducted V2, each with a black or white shroud. Every Eco-Cool ships free in the contiguous US from our warehouse in Upland, California.

Eco-Cool questions
Will my RV's wall thermostat control an Eco-Cool?
No. Premier says an existing remote or wall thermostat will not control the Eco-Cool. You run it from the included remote and the GREE+ app (and the plenum buttons on the Ducted V2). Premier also offers a communication model that accepts a 12V analog input, and Eco-Cool has no furnace trigger, so plan separate furnace control. See replacing a rooftop AC with an Eco-Cool.
Will it fit my existing roof opening?
Premier's manual calls for a 14-1/4 x 14-1/4 in roof opening (enlarge a smaller one) and a roof 1.2 to 3.1 in thick with the standard bolts. Premier offers an 8 in extended bolt package on request for thicker roofs. Measure before you order.
Can I run an Eco-Cool off batteries or an inverter?
Premier recommends an inverter of at least 3,000 W. The battery bank sets your runtime, so see running an Eco-Cool off batteries, an inverter or a generator for the math, and Victron inverter/chargers for the hardware.
Does the heat pump replace my furnace?
Not in the cold. Premier's manual lists heating operation from 23 to 75°F outside. Below that, you still need the furnace.
How does Eco-Cool compare with a Dometic Penguin II?
Both are 15,000 BTU low-profile rooftop units. The main differences are the built-in heat pump, the controls and the published power figures. See Eco-Cool vs Dometic Penguin II 15K for a side-by-side from each maker's own specs.
Who handles the warranty?
