The Ionic 12V-to-36V transfer charger is an onboard DC-DC charger that charges a 36V trolling-motor bank from the boat's 12V starter battery while the engine runs. It takes a 10 to 18V DC input, boosts it to 36V and charges at 10A to 43.8V, with a 480W maximum output.
It starts charging only when the engine is running with at least 30A of alternator output and the 12V starter battery is full, and sits in standby otherwise, drawing under 1mA. It is made for LiFePO4 trolling batteries, runs at 95% efficiency or better, and weighs 2 lb.
