The REDARC Smart Start SBI12 is a microprocessor-controlled 12V battery isolator rated at 100A continuous. In a dual battery system it works as a solenoid priority system, protecting the start battery from excessive discharge while the auxiliary battery powers non-essential loads, and managing the auxiliary battery's charge while you drive.
It is used mostly in 4WD and commercial vehicles. It avoids the voltage drop of a diode isolator, has a low standby draw, and an LED warns of voltage drop, over-voltage and excessive current draw.
