The X2 Helix Gen II is Nomadic Cooling's compact 48V DC rooftop air conditioner for camper vans, RVs, truck campers, toy haulers and battery-powered off-grid builds. It drops into the industry-standard 14 x 14 in roof opening and cools straight from the battery bank, without an inverter-based rooftop setup.
Gen II brings an updated shroud, a revised lower base with integrated leveling feet, directional water-management fins and a flush, powder-coated metal interior faceplate. A PWM compressor ramps and holds temperature instead of hard on/off cycling, High Humidity Mode deals with damp cabins, and the Nomadic Controls app adds remote access, schedules, scenes and diagnostics from a phone, tablet or watch. Local controls still work without the app. Finish: Obsidian Black.

Will it work in my rig?
- Roof: the standard 14 x 14 in opening (about plus or minus 1/2 in); a 1:1 cutout template is in the box.
- Battery: about 452 W on ECO and 913 W on Full AC (Nomadic planning averages, 48V): about 10.2 h on ECO from a 100 Ah 48V LiFePO4 bank, no other loads.
- Wiring: rated up to 19 A at 48V against 64 A for the 12V model, so cable and fusing are far smaller.
