The Renogy 200W 12V ShadowFlux Anti-Shading N-Type Solar Panel is a high-efficiency and cost-effective power solution for RVs, camper vans, off-grid cabins, marine applications, and home backup systems. Featuring advanced N-Type monocrystalline cells and 16BB technology, it achieves up to 25% cell efficiency, delivering more power from a compact installation area.

ShadowFlux anti-shading construction is what separates this panel from the standard N-Type: a shadow across one part of the panel costs you far less output than it would on a conventional module. That makes it the one to fit where a roof vent, air conditioner shroud, antenna or overhanging trees put part of the array in shade at some point in the day. On a roof with clear, unobstructed sun the standard N-Type panel performs comparably for less.

Specifications

  • Rated power: 200W
  • System voltage: Suitable for 12V and 24V systems
  • Cell type: N-Type monocrystalline, 16BB
  • Cell efficiency: Up to 25%
  • Open-circuit voltage: 36.5V, so pair it with an MPPT controller rather than a 25V-input PWM controller

Key Features

  • 25% high cell efficiency: Produces more energy from limited rooftop or installation space.
  • Advanced 16BB technology: Improves current collection and helps reduce the risk of micro-cracks.
  • Strong high-temperature performance: N-Type cells experience lower temperature-related power loss in hot climates.
  • Compact and lightweight design: Ideal for RVs, Class B vans, cabins, boats, and other space-limited installations.
  • Reliable long-term output: Low first-year degradation supports dependable power generation over time.

Built for dependable outdoor use in rain, snow, and demanding off-grid environments.

Ships from Upland in 3–7 days.

What size, and what you also need

  • When to choose it: part of your roof is shaded by an AC shroud, vent or trees. Renogy says ShadowFlux keeps up to 85% of output in partial shade.
  • Controller: MPPT only. At 36.5V open-circuit it is too high for a 25V PWM controller. One or two panels suit a Rover Li MPPT.
  • Daily output: about 600–750 Wh per panel at 4–5 sun hours and 75% harvest.
  • You also need: mounts, an adaptor kit, a fuse and a battery.

Guide: ShadowFlux or standard N-Type?

So far so good. I upgraded from 2 x 100watt Jackery solar panels on my Go Fast Camper to 2 x 200 watt Renogy. Renogy support was excellent - they provided incredible support, walked me through the various cables and adapters required to connect the Renogy solar panels to a Jackery 1000 power station, including providing a wiring diagram. Strongly recommend these folks for overlanding setups!

I started with 2 of the Shadowflux panels in my off grid system, and they consistently out performed the 4 100 watt panels I compared them to. I was impressed enough that I added another two to the array, and have now added four more to my system. I don't have any other 200 watt panels to directly compare them to, but the panels perform well under partial shading and overcast conditions better than the 100 watt panels do.

We live in the woods, so during growing season there is almost always some shade, but at least around midday the shadowflux panel supplies power to recharge our portable power station

Better than the panels they replaced by far but not as good as I hoped. Only getting around 200 watts out of two 200 watt panels even in direct sunlight. They are definitely better in shade though.

Got the 200w. It routinely pulls 210w or more. Looks nice too.

Panels will probably be fine. However less than impressed with your website and very poor customer service. I was looking for info on overall dimensions of panels and customer service rep i spoke to didn't understand what i was asking. AND your CHAT assistant was even worse. I ended up ordering 200w panels based on incorrect dimensions, luckily for me they will "barely" fit. If i had to do it again I'd buy else where.

They work fine and look nice. Middle of winter I get around 350 watts from (2) 200 watt type N shadow flux. Same location I get 400+ from (4) 100 watt type N.

I received 2 200W solar panels undamaged and working. I bought these because of their advertised better handling of partial shade. They replaced a single older 100W solar panel, also from Renogy. I tried the panels in an area where they would get partial shade and I'm not 100% certain that these perform better (in terms of output in partial shade) than the older 100W panel that this replaces. These definitely put out 4x the wattage (combined) that the older panel did, but I'm not convinced that they actually work better in partial shade. Much of the shade right now comes from a tree that currently has leaves on it. We'll see if the ShadowFlux technology does proportionally better when the tree loses its leaves. (I'm not just comparing these new panels to the old one that they replaced - I still have 8 of the older panels operating and I can compare output from that 800W system to output from the new 400W system.) I remain impressed with most of Renogy's gear - their solar panels, LiFP battery, invertor, charge controller, and cabling have all performed flawlessly for years. I will say that I am not 100% impressed - I see that they've pretty much exited the power station business and I applaud that decision, based on the experience I've had with those products.

The Renogy ShadowFlux N-Type panels (200W) deliver excellent performance. Even in partial shade they keep producing strong output, far better than standard panels I’ve used.

The 200 W ShadowFlux has been a great power provider for my Pecron 1500 LiFePO4 battery. I takes from 75% to 99% charging it in 2-4 hours. So power all day in the sun of the SW US.

Unfortunately the amount of voltage limited how many panels I could connect to my Ecoflow power station to 4 and may have caused the high voltage port to malfunction. I never got close to the 200w input power even during the peak time of the day. The 3 220 Ecoflow Bifacial panels got more input but only required to be connected to the low voltage port.

Very impressed with the performance of these panels. I utilized Renogy ShadowFlux 200w solar panels for a solar generator I purchased last month. Mounted them on my roof, where it is shaded until about 9:00 a.m. Surprised they provided any power at all without direct sunlight. Once the sun hit that part of my roof, they were producing really good power ... increasing output until they were in line with the sun overhead. By the time the sun was overhead, they just kept producing more power. Max power output was impressive here in Florida. Well worth the money spent and easy to mount.
