I Love this thing!

So far I have used this unit for the past month in weather up to 120° in my express work/play van and it has been able to keep my van at a reasonable temp (85 to 90) even in direct sunlight. It can actually keep it cold inside if I wanna pull a little more power on turbo. We usually are in and out of the van getting tools while doing solar and lithium installs in the field. I will say that the hot weather makes the amperage consumption a little more than usual but that it to be expected. It has only been turned off once in the past month by me and does a great job on eco overnight to keep things ready for the morning while running off shore power. I recommend VELIT 100% and will be another for the next van I get.

Perfect!

I installed this unit over the bed of our 19’ 5th wheel. It fit perfectly in the same location as the vent fan that was previously installed. It does not make it cold in our rv, but cuts the temperature by 20-30 degrees. That is a plus because we installed it only with the hope of being cool while we sleep and it accomplishes that with ease! Installation was pretty straightforward and delivery in the custom wooden crate was impressive and gave me confidence that it was a quality product and that the company cared about its customers and products. This was a great purchase and I already recommended it to a friend that purchased one as well!

Installed on 38’ Catamaran in the Jungle

We needed a solution to combat the high heat and humidity of the Guatemalan jungle. I installed the Velit AC unit a year ago and it had exceeded our expectations. I did have an issue about a month ago with the unit throwing off an error code and the compressor wouldn’t start. I contacted Ben in support and he immediately responded with the solution…a loose screw. The one complaint I have is that in fixing the loose screw I had to remove the cover AC cover. In doing so I found that the plastic cover and gasket that protects the screw terminals on the compressor was mangled and cracked. That should have been corrected at the factory. Ben did send me a replacement cover.

12v rooftop AC

Great product. Great price. Well packaged. It's just what I needed for my low top Sprinter conversion. I probably won't use the MaxAir fan that much now.

Velit 2000R upgrade on Winnebago Revel

We upgraded the Coleman Mach Q that came from factory on a Winnebago Revel, which consumes lots of amps, you have to run the inverter, it's noisy, and all that stuff. Made some research with another 12v brands that are way more expensive than Velit, but i decided for this one because of the price, and the good reviews that it has. It didn't disappoint, arrived well packaged, and changing it was super easy. The power that uses is a joke, i can be all day running it in ECO mode with my 3/130 batteries. It's super quiet, the height is low, and the van looks way better ( with the Coleman it was having a big box on the top of the roof ) I made lots of mods to the van, but this one is one of the best.

An excellent option

Very well priced and seems to be working great. On an 80 degree day it was pumping out 55 and on a 93 degree day it was pushing 70-75 at startup. Compared to my Coleman Mach 8 120V unit, this is much, much quieter. I installed the Velit a/c using the Diyvan roof adapter, gasket and a 3/4" spacer. My ceiling is 1/4" T&G attached directly to the roof pillars on a '23 Sprinter. Very happy with the roof adapter and gasket (feels really sold) but I'd probably use a 1/2" spacer or even none at all next time. The adapter and gasket raise it enough in my van. My only suggestions for future models would be 1) the rods holding the unit in place screw into nuts attached into ABS plastic instead of the steel base of the unit. That should be changed. 2) there are two inline fuses right up against the unit. If either ever needed to be replaced, you would likely have to remove the bracket to get access to it. There should be a better way to access them, and 3) a white and black color option of the interior unit would be nice. All in all, very happy I chose this unit.

FINALLY!!!

I redid an older Scamp converting mostly everything to 12V, the Velit A/C unit was my final conversion. The old unit was way harder to get out than the Velit was to put in. Very happy with this unit!!

Works great, remote needs help

I purchased the 12v rooftop AC for my MB Sprinter. You can tell that the unit is designed well and constructed and works well. There is some gurgling noise when it runs, often at startup, which makes sense as the freon moves through the system, but then continues sometimes while running. I wish the installation manual had more images and information, the few paragraphs in the manual is a shortfall; there were extra parts with no detail what they were for. Might be a good idea to go to an QR code/ on-line manual, that way it can be updated easily. The bolts holding the inside trim were too short, had to buy more which was not an easy task being metric, stainless and long. The way the unit attaches to the roof is smart and simple. My remote is pretty much worthless, I have to be right next to the unit for it to work and then multiple button presses are necessary to activate a function. There’re buttons on the remote that don’t do anything and hard to know what any given button does as the feedback on the remote screen doesn't seem to match the what the unit is doing. I'm used to my Maxxair fan remote working from the other end of the van with accurate feedback on the remote screen. Disappointing the remote will likely not work from the rear bed at night. You’ll need a battery to battery charger and 300AH though, so had to beef up my electrical a bit. The unit cools well, it’s been a game changer this summer in Texas with the heat, so love the unit itself.

What a relief!

Replaced my nearly new Dometic Penguin A/C unit with the Velit 2000R. The Velit installation in my 2021 Sprinter was actually easier than removal of the Dometic. I am a retired mechanical/electrical/software engineer so no stranger to HVAC. I found the Velit to be well built. So the remote isn't the highest quality but it does the job. But I didn't buy it for the remote. The components are high quality; the rooftop sealing gasket was virtually a duplicate of the original Dometic and the unit occupies less rooftop real estate which helped the installation process, improved aerodynamics and increased my solar view. Once installed and connected to 400 ah LiFePo4's supported by 300 watts solar we were in business. I live in Moab, UT where we have been 100 deg or more every day for the entire month of July. (It's a dry heat!) Obviously the Velit has to work hard (Turbo mode) to cool the Sprinter down after sitting in 108 deg sun all day. But if started in the morning when temps are about 75-80 deg, Eco mode is pretty efficient with little battery drain. The reduced noise level alone makes it worth the price - a considerable improvement over the Dometic. Overall, a great product at a reasonable price!

Very happy!

Great 12v ac unit. Easy to install, runs cold and my current solar/battery set up powers it off grid all night! Did I mention affordable? Lower price than most other units currently on the market. We are very satisfied!

Awesome 12v A/C

This was extremely easy to install on my 23 Sprinter Van. We have 4-100 watt solar panels and 4-100 amp batteries to power the van and the A/C barely uses any energy to keep the van cool. Our van lost the turbo due to chaffing on the wiring harness so we had to turn off the vans A/C and use the Velit A/C when it was 106 degrees driving home to Vegas and it was actually cooler than the engine A/C. We’re so happy with this and the price compared to the others out there was a bonus.
