A complete off-grid cooling system, not just an air conditioner. Most portable ACs leave you to source and size the power yourself. The Mark 3 runs on its own 48V Smart Battery that plugs straight in — nothing to match, no inverter in the path, no guesswork about whether your power station can carry the load.

Why the system matters more than the BTU number

  • Purpose-built power. The 1,022Wh Mark 3 Smart Battery is made for this unit and connects directly at 48V.
  • It scales. Batteries chain up to five units. Start with one, add capacity when you find out what your own rig actually draws. A general-purpose power station cannot be stacked this way.
  • Matched solar. 100W folding kits charge the Mark 3 battery directly, so day three off grid is as good as night one.
  • Fast turnaround. 0 to 80% in about two hours on the supplied adapter.
  • One system, one warranty. AC, battery, solar and cables all from one maker, designed to work together.

Specifications

  • 5,280 BTU cooling, 5,800 BTU heating
  • Covers roughly 100–150 sq ft
  • Thermostat 61°F–88°F, plus dehumidify and fan modes
  • 48V DC, 500W rated draw, 150W minimum once holding temperature
  • Just under 22 lb
  • R290 refrigerant

Cooling a tent or a van for a night or two off a power station you already own? Our portable air conditioner range has cheaper ways to do that, and we will point you at them. The Mark 3 is for people who want the whole cooling system to be one considered thing that scales with the trip.

A venting kit matched to your window, tent or vehicle is required and sold separately.

Ships from Upland in 3–7 days, with shipping included on every order. Backed by the Zero Breeze manufacturer warranty.

Before you buy the Mark 3 on its own

The Mark 3 needs 48V DC, so plan its power with it: the Mark 3 Smart Battery plugs straight in for off-grid use, the AC/DC 48V adapter runs it from shore power, and the 12V to 48V converter runs it from a house battery bank. A venting kit is also required. If you want the AC and battery in one order, the Mark 3 with Smart Battery bundles are the simpler route.

Well Worth theoney

Upgraded to a Zero Breeze Mark 3 from a portable AC and it works much better. Only draws 480 watts vs 1380 can tie directly to my batteries with their DIY cable. Ruby at customer service was very helpful and got me everything I needed. This is constantly 30 to 40 deg F cooler than ambient. Quiet and the unit does not produce excess heat aside from the exhaust air out. It's amazing for such a small unit. It's great at getting moisture out of the air as well. My van life living has greatly improved in this Texas heat. Thank you Zero Breeze team and Ruby for a fantastic unit.

Perfect Service!

We used a Mark 3 while traveling across Africa. No matter how hot or humid it was, we slept perfectly. Unfortunately, the unit eventually stopped cooling... but we had a reliable contact person in Ruby throughout the trip... ultimately, a new unit had to be delivered... and the support for the replacement was excellent, too! Now we will be using the new air conditioner as we continue our journey through Southern Africa.

Great Cooling

My Mark 3 keeps the cab of my truck incredibly comfortable throughout the night. I’ve also used it to cool my camper, and it works flawlessly. When I needed assistance, I was able to reach out via email, and Cara was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and answered all my questions.

Homemade RV bathroom ceiling fan adapter for cold or hot air duct

Before I share my adapter story, I want to give a BIG thank you to CARA, who I had a lot of back and forth before buying this unit!! So I just bought the Mark 3 and 2 batteries for use in our Winnebago Cambria 30j bedroom and bathroom space. Approx 150 sq ft space. We have a door that separates this space from rest of RV. I purchased the Zero Breeze ceiling fan adapter for hot air rear duct, but needed to figure out what to do with cold air duct. My windows were not an option. So I decided to use the ‘other’ ceiling fan in our adjoining bathroom. Challenge was with this style of fan, there isn’t a Zero Breeze adapter. It’s a different style (see pic). So I made my own adapter using 1/2” foam board from Hobby Lobby, tube of lucite PL 300 and (4) 4” screws and (4) 1” washers. Original screws holding the ceiling fan in place are (4) 3 1/4” so I used (4) 4” to allow for 1/2” foam board and washer. I cut the board to size with heavy duty Olfa knife. To give the board more rigidity for accepting duct, I added a smaller piece of 1/2” foam board to make overall thickness of 1” for hole. Use lucite PL 300 to stick foam board together. Cut your hole in a mounting position so you can also put your hand through and open and close fan screen without having to unscrew or take off adapter. Don’t used the center of the space as it will likely interfere too much with actual fan. Mine is offset center. Once installed, simply slip your duct through (carefully) until it sits flush with fan screen mess. I used ‘Velcro’ to attach duct to corner of my bathroom door (in my case, top left corner of door). Didn’t need anything to hold duct at adapter based on design. Ran the unit and no issues at all! Now I have ideal set up for this space using ZB M3 system!

So far so good!

Hey there! Wanted to share my setup in my fiberglass truck topper. I recently got my second unit and haven't had an opportunity to use it, however the small space I have it in cooled down in about 15 minutes on an 87 degree day.

Micro Climates

Great for creating micro climates in home. Exhaust hose fits perfectly through cat doors. Bathroom stays warm, bedroom stays cold, and living room stays mild. One cat prefers the heat while me and the other cats prefer the cold. No longer have to waste energy running the home AC and space heaters at the same time. Also, I have a projector in the bedroom that produces a lot of heat so nice being able to pull the heat out of the bedroom without having to run the home AC just to cool one room.

Zero Breeze Mark 3 works great on the boat!

I set up the Mark 3 to cool my boat at the dock and for overnight sleeping. It's a game-changer to be able to cool off in the cabin area before and after fishing and to get restful sleep overnight. So far have only used in temperatures in the mid 80s with dewpoints in the upper 60s but am able to be cool, comfortable, and dry. I'm amazed at how quiet it is and how well it dehumidifies. Just love when the condensate pump kicks in and seeing all the water that's been removed from the air. Can't wait to get it set up in my truck and camper too!

I have the Mark ll (3 years)and lll (1 year)

I use both of these in my sailboat. I keep the batteries charged and move them around the boat sometimes in the forcabin sometime in the aft cabin mostly in the main cabin, I duct the exhaust tube through a port window and I can get 63 and 64° out of each one of them. The Mark three fan speed is a little higher so it blows cooler I like them both equally sometimes we even take them in the cockpit. They’re a wonderful product and very portable

STAYING COOL IN THE TEXAS HEAT!

We decided to go with the Mark 3 and two batteries, the upgrades were just too good to pass up. We use our Zero Breeze for our mobile business, the van A/C alone cannot keep up with the Summer heat here in Texas. The Mark 3 helps keep us cool and comfortable for hours while on job sites. No doubt the heater will also come in handy this Winter. Can't wait to try our Mark 3 out while doing a little camping too!

Kept Us Cool at Rock Festivals!

We used our Mark3 with a single battery during summer rock festivals in Spain. It helped us stay inside our Range Rover on some of the hotter days.
