NG or SuperPack?

Lithium SuperPack has its battery management system built in. It is a drop-in replacement: wire it like any battery, set your charger to a lithium profile, done. Good for simple systems and lead-acid upgrades.

LiFePO4 NG is Victron's system battery. It needs an external Victron BMS (Lynx Smart BMS NG, VE.Bus BMS NG or SmallBMS NG), which lets the BMS stop charging and loads before a cell is ever at risk, and lets you build large banks in series and parallel. This is the choice for full Victron systems with a MultiPlus and Cerbo GX.
How much capacity?
Add up your daily use in amp-hours and plan for one to two days without charging. Many trailers run well on 200Ah at 12V; running an air conditioner or induction cooktop from batteries usually takes 400Ah or more, often at 24V or 48V.

Common questions
Can I use a Victron lithium battery with my existing converter?
A SuperPack works with most chargers that have a lithium profile. Older lead-acid converters often undercharge lithium; a Victron Blue Smart or Smart IP43 charger is the usual fix.
Does the NG battery come with a BMS?
No. NG batteries need a separate Victron BMS. See the BMS options in our battery protection collection.
