The Victron Orion-Tr Smart is a non-isolated DC-DC charger that charges an auxiliary battery from a starter battery or alternator while driving, using a proper multi-stage charge profile rather than a fixed voltage. This helps house batteries reach a full, healthy charge and is a core component of van and RV electrical builds.
Built-in Bluetooth lets you configure and monitor the charger from the VictronConnect app, and models are offered in 12/12, 12/24, and 24/12 configurations to suit different system voltages. It also features an engine-detection input so charging only runs when the vehicle is running. In stock and shipping from Upland in 3–7 days.

What size you need
- 12/12-30: charges a 12 V house battery from a 12 V vehicle at 30 A continuous (8–17 V input).
- 12/24-15, 24/12-30, 24/24-17: for 24 V vehicles or 24 V house banks.
- Non-isolated: input and output share a common negative. It holds its output steady across the input range (buck-boost), which helps with long cable runs and smart alternators.
- Units can be paralleled for more current. There is no VE.Direct port.
What you also need
- Input and output fuses and cable rated for the current; terminals take up to 16 mm² (AWG 6).
