The Summit 2 is OutEquipPro's low-profile 48V DC rooftop air conditioner for vans, campers and trailers. It runs straight off your house battery, parked or driving, and puts out 11,000 BTU of cooling plus 4,500 BTU of supplementary PTC heat. At 6.3 inches tall and 45 lb all-in it saves roof space and weight, and it drops into a standard 14 x 14 inch vent opening.

Brushless copper-motor fans on the condenser and evaporator keep it quiet (53/48/40 dB), spring mounts soak up compressor vibration, and dual sensors hold the set temperature. Control it from the remote or by Bluetooth, with Eco, Sleep and Turbo modes. Built-in protection covers undervoltage, overvoltage, overload and overtemperature.

So far so good

I put the air conditioner in a 16 x 8 foot cargo trailer converted to a camper. I had been putting a window AC in when I stop and taking it out when I leave. It was inconvient and took the trailer a long time to cool off after stoping in 100 degree temps. there was very little room on my roof. The 14 x 10 inch opening made it possible. I have only tried it while parked at home. We have had several 100 degree days and it seemed to cool it down. I am hopping I can run it on eco mode while traveling and keep the trailer from gettigng as hot.

Purchased it for the purpose of putting on a golf cart. It was the best idea I’ve ever had in my life. The amount of air coming out and the temperature of it and the hot days of Texas is absolutely. Would highly recommend anybody that has heat problems to do this.

Today I got my new Air Conditioner

Today I got my new Air Conditioner and I set them up in my work shop to test them, becouse the roof on our skool bus is not rady for mounting it on. It is running fine and working in all set ups. I'm drawing just 4,5A in ECO mode, wich is fantastic. Meens 240W of power , this is nothing. :) I'm really happy and can not wait to see it running on the bus. It is not hot here right now , but last week we hat 30celsius. So time will tell how it will handle the hot temperatures, but I gues it will work. Thanks to the OutEquip taem to make it happen. I was locking since 2 years for an 48V air conditiner, and it is really hard to find a good one here in Canada. So thanks again:) Sincerely, Thomas

Works very well but one annoyance

Works very well, though I had to use the extension kit and the only complaint I have is the looong screws holding the control panel and vents are ridiculously difficult to line up withthe screw holes very far up from the panel. I have ordered rigid plastic tubing to attach to the screw holes to guide the screws in so I can get the panel mounted.

The AC was shipped and arrived as scheduled very pleased the installation was straightforward and easy, no instructions necessary. We live in Texas and it's 100°, when I installed it so it struggled to cool the van but it did cool off and maintain a good temp in the heat of the day.

Beyond expectations ….

Even though the old AC unit came with the Thor RV, which was quite new, I opted for the 48V version, and I must say, I have no regrets. This unit is absolutely worth it compared to the power consumption of 110V versions. I might even consider getting a second unit for the bedroom area.

Good performance, could be great with a few small improvements.

I'm pretty happy with this unit. I got the 48V version which runs directly off a 48V lithium battery in my RV conversion. I have very few complaints, just some small things that could be better. 1. There was an odor when I first started using it, but it has worn off over time. It wasn't horrible, but obviously something left over from the manufacturing process. 2. From what I can tell, the remote will only show the temperature setting in Celsius, although I have changed the display on the unit itself to show Fahrenheit. 3. The air intake is behind the exhaust, so it is not ideal to aim the exhaust to the rear because that could result in short-cycling, causing the unit to turn off then on more often than it should. I am considering adding ducting for the intake to pull air from further away to avoid this. 4. There is no button on the unit itself to turn the LED lights on/off, as well as other features on the remote only. Don't lose the remote! Other than those few things, it has been a solid performer so far.

Cool and quiet

This air conditioner produces ice cold air, is very quiet and energy efficient. I'm very pleased with this unit, the size on the inside and outside is very compact. The only reason I give it four stars is that the dust filter that you're supposed to clean regularly is inside the interior cowling and you have to remove four screws the entire interior bezel and control panel just to clean the dust filter thoroughly.

Awesome little unit!

We purchased this unit to install into the rooftop of a Chevy 3500 van that hauls around rescue dogs. I had this unit installed and wired in 3 hours and it cranks out the cool air! Very quiet operation and I like how low it sits profile wise.

Unit works as designed, Install is tough

Unit works as designed... Install sucks... I have a 2022 Winnebago TT and part of the install is snaking the wire/s down a wall, under the floor to where the batteries are and that was not easy. Second part is Outequip problems. You have to buy an extension kit (about 48 bucks) which comes with the 6 inch vent extension, about 8 inch bolts (just threaded bolts rods) and screws. The problem is in my case, I only needed 2 inch extension, so needless to say I have to cut a few inches off everything to make it work. Then the vent extension is molded larger at one end than the other to make it fit over the piece that is on the control panel and that larger end would NOT fit between the metal brace (from end to end) holding the entire unit to the roof and that molded end was one inch of the two needed. Then as others have said, those screws finding the their holes to screw into is tough to find. This is just a bad design especially working with the extending surround cover and having to the whole thing up at the same time (maybe this whole thing should be a snap on instead of using screws).

This unit is worth every penny

This unit is worth every penny. It is a complete game changer from using the old AC roof unit. Not having to in the generator while running down the road to have cold AC in the back of our sprinter is amazing. Not to mention this is so quiet and efficient. Excellent product.

Outstanding air conditioner

Outstanding air conditioner. It installed easily and works fantastic!! Dealing with the people who fielded my questions and needs was top notch. I wish more companies were run like this one . They truly set a precedent unrivaled by any. Smart people, great product! I will definitely be using them for my next rooftop unit.

Scamp 13 for the dogs while stopping

The ac works great. I had to make a collar out of 3/4 plywood to make the ceiling a little stronger. I just made it a 1/2 inch larger than the white plastic cover. Paint it white and it looks like it was all factory. Very satisfied so far. I haven’t really put it to the test to see how long it will run on a charge.

Just installed and it powered up like a charm and blew cold air even in Phoenix heat. Love the low profile inside as my hubby is tall. We are still building but needed to be able to cool the inside of the van to do some work so this was an early install!

One Year in Our Vintage Winnebago

We’ve been using the Outequipro AC in our vintage Winnebago for about a year now, and it has honestly become one of the most useful upgrades we’ve added. Our Winnebago currently does not have a working factory heater, so having a unit that can help with both cooling and heat has been a huge deal for us. It is one thing to have air conditioning in an old camper, but being able to stay warm when the temperature drops has made the Winnebago much more usable. We really put it to the test during our last race. That night, the temperature dropped down to 41 degrees, and even without a working heater in the Winnie, we were more than comfortable inside. That alone made us appreciate the Outequipro even more. After a full year of use, it has been reliable, easy to use, and a big help on race weekends, road trips, and long days at events. These old Winnebagos have a ton of character, but they do not always have modern comfort. The Outequipro has helped bridge that gap without taking away from what we love about the vintage camper. For anyone with an older RV, van, camper, or vintage motorhome looking for a way to make it more comfortable in both hot and chilly weather, the Outequipro AC is definitely worth considering. After a year of real-world use in our vintage Winnebago, we’re very happy with it.
