DeeMaxx part numbers are built from a small set of codes, and once you can read them the whole catalog opens up: the number alone tells you whether a part is a kit or a component, which axle it fits, the stud size, the hub type and the finish. This guide decodes the prefixes and suffixes used across the 148 DeeMaxx parts we carry, with examples you can click. For how the kits differ from each other, read which DeeMaxx kit fits your axle; this page is the dictionary behind the DeeMaxx range.

Axle rating and axle family
- 3.5K, 6K, 7K, 8K: the axle rating in thousands of pounds. Calipers and pads span two ratings each: 3-6K and 7-8K.
- 3.5KI: the 3.5K bracket for the integral rotor/hub (DBB-3.5KI-MAXX). The plain 3.5K bracket is for a slip-over rotor on a galvanized hub.
- 6KC: the 6K closed 5-bolt bracket (DBB-6KC); plain 6K is the open bracket. Both mount to a 5-hole brake flange.
- 8KD: 8K Dexter/Lippert. 8KA: 8K Al-Ko/Axis/Quality. 8KDD: Dexter 8K with a slip-over rotor on a DeeMaxx galvanized hub, used by the stainless 8K kits. The differences are explained in DeeMaxx 8K fitment.
Studs and hubs
- 9T / 10T: 9/16" or 5/8" wheel studs on a threaded (oil) rotor/hub. No stud code at 3.5K, 6K and 7K means 1/2" studs.
- T / NT on hubs and rotor/hubs: threaded for a screw-in cap (2-7/8"-12 on the 6K to 8K hubs and the 8K rotor/hubs, 2-5/16"-11 on the 5-lug HUB-545T), or non-threaded for a dust cap (RTR/HUB-131-8KT vs 8KNT; HUB-865T vs HUB-865NT).
- -.56 / -.62: the stud diameter in inches on the 8K rotor/hubs (9/16" is 0.56, 5/8" is 0.62).
- HUB-545 / 655 / 865: galvanized hub bolt pattern, 5 on 4.5", 6 on 5.5" or 8 on 6.5". The suffix gives the studs or rating: HUB-865T-9 (9/16"), HUB-865T-10 (5/8"), HUB-865NT-7K (7K, 1/2"). GALV is galvanized; -KIT on a hub is the hub pre-greased and assembled with its bearings, seal, cap, closed chrome lug nuts and cotter pin; -B-KIT / -G-KIT on the 5-lug hub kit is a black or gray aluminum cap.
- HUB-545-HUB CAP-BLK / GRY: aluminum 2-5/16"-11 threaded caps for the 5-lug threaded hubs, black with yellow letters or gray with white letters. AT-6-8K-LC: the Lexan 2-7/8"-12 screw-in cap with a Viton O-ring for 6K to 8K threaded hubs, oil or grease.
Rotors, calipers and brackets
- RTR-: slip-over rotor, followed by its diameter: RTR-109 (10.9"), RTR-120 (12"), RTR-131-7K and RTR-131-8K (13.1", drilled for the 7K or the 8K hub).
- RTR/HUB-: integral rotor and hub in one casting: RTR/HUB-102 (10.2", 5 lug), RTR/HUB-120 (12", 6 lug), RTR/HUB-131-7K and RTR/HUB-131-8KT or 8KNT (13.1", 8 lug).
- CALP-: caliper, by axle span: CALP-3-6K, CALP-7-8K. Caliper components carry the same prefix: CALP-3-6K-PISTON-SS and CALP-7-8K & 10-16K-PISTON-SS (stainless pistons), CALP-3-8K-BSASSY (bolt and sleeve assembly), CALP-3-16K-BS (10 x 1 mm bleed screw with cap, a DeeMaxx part we do not list), CALP-GREASE-10 (MAXX Glide silicone grease, ten packets).
- DBB-: disc brake bracket, by axle family: DBB-3.5K, DBB-3.5KI, DBB-6K, DBB-6KC, DBB-7K, DBB-8KD, DBB-8KDD, DBB-8KA. DBB-…-SS BOLT / NUT in a kit list is the stainless bracket hardware.
Pads
- CALP-3-6K-BRAKE PAD and CALP-7-8K-BRAKE PAD: the standard yellow pad set, one axle. DeeMaxx lists the 3-6K as ceramic and the 7-8K as Kevlar.
- -PAD-SM: semi-metallic (green on the 3-6K set). -PAD-SS: stainless steel (3-6K) or stainless steel ceramic (7-8K).
- D289 / D215: the pad reference numbers for the 3-6K and 7-8K sets. The three materials are compared in DeeMaxx brake pads: ceramic vs semi-metallic vs stainless.
Finish
- MAXX: DeeMaxx's corrosion-resistant coating. SS: stainless steel. MAXX-SS, or MAXX/SS on the 3.5K and 6K single-wheel kits: MAXX rotor/hub and bracket with a stainless caliper and pads; the MAXX-SS kits contain the full stainless CALP-3-6K-SS or CALP-7-8K-SS caliper. On the two caliper parts, CALP-3-6K-MAXX-SS and CALP-7-8K-MAXX-SS, the same suffix means a MAXX-coated caliper fitted with stainless pads. GALV: galvanized, on hubs. -BLK: black finish on the actuators. Which finish suits which water is in DeeMaxx MAXX vs stainless.
Actuators and lines
- EOHA: electric-over-hydraulic Alpha actuator. 1000: 1,000 psi, for hydraulic drum brakes. 1600: 1,600 psi, for disc brakes. XL: the 28.7 fl oz reservoir for three or more axles. P&P: plug and play, supplied with harness, breakaway battery and switch. Compared in DeeMaxx EOH actuators explained.
- DOT-SA18K / TA20K / TR20K: single, tandem or triple axle brake line kit: an 18 ft (220") or 20 ft (240") main line plus shorter flex lines; the tandem and triple kits add brass 3-way and 4-way fittings, line clamps, screws and axle tie straps.
- DOT-RFL-: DOT rubber flex line, with its length in inches. DOT-SSFL-: stainless steel braided line with a Teflon core. 90deg-M-Fem: 90° male/female ends.

Frequently asked questions
Is your SKU the DeeMaxx part number?
Yes. On every DeeMaxx listing the SKU, the manufacturer part number and the number in brackets in the title are the DeeMaxx part number, so a number from a DeeMaxx invoice or a kit's contents list can be typed straight into our search.
Why does a 7K-9T kit contain an 8K rotor/hub?
DeeMaxx builds the 7,000 lb 9/16"-stud kits on its 8K threaded rotor/hub (RTR/HUB-131-8KT-.56) with the 7K bracket, so the part list reads 8K while the kit is rated 7K.
What do D289 and D215 mean?
They are the pad reference numbers for the two pad sizes DeeMaxx uses: D289 in the 3-6K caliper, D215 in the 7-8K caliper. Buy pads by that number, not by axle brand.
What about the AUS- part numbers on deemaxx.com?
Those are DeeMaxx's Australian-market parts (couplings, 7-pin plugs, chains, LED lamps, a hand-brake lever and tow balls). We do not list them.
Every DeeMaxx part ships from our warehouse in Upland, California. Found it cheaper? Under our Lowest Price Guarantee we'll beat it.
