Will a Visionworks wireless backup camera work on an RV pre-wired for Furrion?

Answered by RV Parts Giant · Upland, CA · October 26, 2026

Short answer: Yes. Visionworks' Gen2 RV kits (5", 7" and 10" monitors) are built for RVs pre-wired for a Furrion camera, and they include the bracket and 12V power adapter. The Gen2 camera is also sold on its own, and the VWFPL metal bracket with power and ground adapter is sold separately if the bracket you need is missing.

Many trailers and fifth wheels leave the factory "camera ready": a mounting point and a 12V feed at the top rear, set up for a Furrion camera. You don't have to buy a Furrion camera for it. Visionworks builds its Gen2 RV line to fit that same pre-wire.

What fits

You want Part
A full system: camera plus monitor Gen2 RV kit: VWIC514G2-HDWLRV (5"), VWIC714G2-HDWLRV (7"), VWIC114G2-HDWLRV (10")
A camera only, to add or replace one VWCAMG21-HDWL Gen2 camera, listed as compatible with Furrion pre-wired RVs
Just the mount and power adapter VWFPL metal bracket with 12V power and ground adapter

The kits already include the bracket and the 12V power adapter, so a kit buyer doesn't need the VWFPL. Buy the VWFPL separately when the bracket is missing, damaged, or was left on a camera you removed.

What the Gen2 kit gives you

  • 1080p camera with real-time video at 60 fps
  • Wireless range of 1,000+ ft with good line of sight
  • Night vision to 35+ ft
  • IP69K rated camera with a 3-year Visionworks camera warranty
  • A touchscreen monitor that shows and records up to four cameras on its built-in DVR. The SD card (up to 256GB) isn't included.
  • Suction cup, ram-style and cup holder monitor mounts in the box

Check these before you order

  1. Confirm the pre-wire is really there. Look at the top rear cap, usually at the center, for a Furrion-style mount or a capped 12V lead.
  2. Confirm it has power. If the camera shows no picture, check the 12V feed with a meter before you blame the camera. On some trailers the feed is only live with the tow vehicle plugged in and the running lights on.
  3. Pick a monitor size for the number of cameras. A 7" screen is the popular size. If you'll add side cameras and use quad view, the 10" makes four small images easier to read.

If your trailer has no pre-wire, the Gen2 RV kit isn't the one to buy. Visionworks' magnet-mount and light-mounted cameras are made for that case.

Next steps: 5" vs 7" vs 10" monitor · adding side marker, license plate and dash cameras · setup: mounts, power, signal and recording.
